Composite Panel Association (CPA) Grademark Program

Composite Panel Association (CPA) EPP Certification
Products manufactured by SierraPine under the guidelines of this certification program meet stringent requirements for recovered and recycled wood fiber content and emissions. For program specifics, visit the CPA website at www.pbmdf.com
Scientific Certification Systems (SCS)
SierraPine is certified by SCS in three different categories, and current SCS Certificates can be obtained from SierraPine by contacting our Marketing Department. SCS is an approved third-party certifier for LEED criteria. www.scscertified.com

Recycled Content: All products from SierraPine’s panel plants are certified for recovered and recycled wood fiber content.

No-Added Formaldehyde & No-Added Urea Formaldehyde: SierraPine’s sustainable product line which includes Arreis, Medite II, Medex, Medite FR and Encore have this certification.

FSC Mixed Credit Certified: All products from SierraPine’s panel plants are offered with the option of FSC Certified wood.
California Air Resources Board (CARB)
In April 2008, the final rules for formaldehyde emissions for composite panels were codified into law. CARB Phase 1 and CARB Phase 2 compliant products are available from SierraPine today, even though Phase 1 doesn’t go into effect for particleboard and MDF until January 2009 and Phase 2 doesn’t go into effect until January 2012. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
As of March 2008, all panel products manufactured by SierraPine are available as FSC Mixed Credit Certified. For more information on FSC certification standards, visit www.fsc.org. To obtain a copy of SierraPine’s Chain of Custody Certificate, email a request to our Marketing Department.
Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
Three products made by SierraPine qualify for, and are stamped with the HUD stamp, certifying that these products meet the specific standards set forth by HUD. These products are particleboard underlayment, particleboard shelving and particleboard stair tread.
